Samantha Wyld is a Partner and Senior Director in the Finance and Operations division of Optum Advisory. As a Partner, Samantha oversees complex access, operations, and revenue cycle focused consulting engagements with hospitals, clinics, and health systems to improve their overall performance. Samantha also helps healthcare leaders strategically plan and prioritize their priorities to identify areas for ongoing improvement and optimization. Samantha comes to Optum through the Advisory Board Company—there, she joined the revenue cycle team in 2008 via what was then known as H*Works Consulting and today serves as one of the team’s foremost experts, with an emphasis on access to care optimization. Most recently, Samantha has focused her efforts on enhancing the access experience for patients, staff, and providers alike, serving as Optum Advisory’s leading thought partner in this space. Since 2016, Samantha has led executive retreats, served as a guest speaker for organizations across the country, and presented at Optum's annual Forum event across both 2018 and 2020 on this topic. Samantha has also served as a guest speaker at Healthcare Financial Management Association meetings across multiple states, most recently including Massachusetts-Rhode Island in May of 2023, with topics ranging from financial experience to strategic revenue cycle optimization and achieving compliance with the No Surprises Act. Samantha holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from The Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business, and she is a graduate of the Advisory Board Research Fellowship Program.
